The Buffalo Historical Society was established in 1862 and renamed The Buffalo History Museum in 2012. Local architect George Cary designed the Museum’s neoclassical structure to serve as the New York State Building for the 1901 Pan-American Exposition. The New York State Legislature and the Historical Society contributed funds toward its construction. We celebrate our iconic building through this pin for not only its beautiful architecture, but also due to this structure representing our mission to experience our unique community history with you.
